Project Background

This project involved refurbishment and adding new facilities to the City of Westminster College, Maida Vale Campus. The whole site, including buildings ranging in age from the 1890s to the 1960s, was in need of refurbishment to create a modern teaching and learning environment.

The main focus of the project was creating contemporary learning spaces for adult learners undertaking a variety of courses. In addition the refurbished facilities will provide the college with a dedicated centre and specialist facilities to support students with learning difficulties and disabilities.

Scope of Works

Piggott and Whitfield undertook the whole replacement of the mechanical, electrical and public health services which have been completely updated including new catering teaching kitchens, central assembly and lecture theatre on the ground floor and teaching spaces, break out zones and staff facilities on levels one, two, three and four.
