Project Description
Commissoned by Bovis Lend Lease for the full fit out of the fallow ground floor of the existing multi storey car park, for the new Integrated Sexual Health Clinic within the Manchester Royal Infirmary PFI modernisation project. Building Works undertaken included partition walls, thermal insulations, below ground drainage, flooring, suspended ceilings, reception counters, nurse bases, decoration, joinery and New fully glazed curtain walling frontage. The full design and build of the mechanical and electrical installations was also undertaken by PW Building Services, along with the network infrastructure with our sister division, PW Communications.
Scope of Works - Design and Project Management of:
Mechanical Services
Due to restrictions on incoming supplies, PW Building Services designed an electric water heating system to serve the domestic hot water services to the whole clinic. Restrictions were also encountered with reference to available space for air handling units, and so a modular, zoned ventialtion system, using lossnay units, was installed to provide supply and extract ventilation. Heating and Cooling to the building was provided via a VRV airconditioning system.
All sanitaryware and associated pipework and drainage systems were supplied and installed by PW Building Services.
Electrical Services
Within the Plant room a new LV Switchboard was installed, complete with power factor correction equipment. From this new switchboard new LV distribution cabling was installed to new distribution boards, serving all lighting, power and mechanical equipment for the clinic.
Specialist ELV systems installed by PW Building Services also included fire alarms, security systems, emergency lighting system and music systems.
Data Systems
A new Systimax Cat 6 structured cabling system was installed to serve the voice and data requirements of the clinic.
